A CRASH COURSE IN OFF-GRID ADV ADVENTURES
at MAX BMW Brunswick, NY
We spend lots of money on equipment for riding, riders training, trips and farkles. But when it comes to safety, first aid, and GPS training, many riders only carry a "boo-boo" kit. They rely on their cell phones even when there may be no service, and basic knowledge of their mini-GPS is lacking. Basic emergency medical knowledge should be just as important as ATGATT.
In this hands-on class, "Doc" Ken Hoffman, DACM, will discuss the fundamentals of rider safety off road, what to carry as a bare minimum, preparing for an off-road trip or an overnight stay in the woods. You will learn how to recognize health emergencies and practice basic life-saving/first aid skills that everyone on your team should know.
Lastly, we will practice how and what to communicate to EMS personnel using different tools from GPS, phones and more.
Your Instructor:

His knowledge comes from real life experience both as a SAR Medical specialist and avid ADV rider.
